Required Qualifications:

One year’s recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS Certification Current ACLS (AHA/ARC)

CertificationPreferred Qualifications:

Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance withinstate regulations PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition

Summary:

The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible forassisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascularprocedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involvespreparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data,assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safetythroughout the process. The technologist operates specializedimaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborateswith the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. Thisposition requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures,critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently inhigh-pressure situations.

Essential Work Functions:

Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization,angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and otherinterventional procedures Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters,wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy andhemodynamic monitoring equipment Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, andhemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality Ability to scrub in and assist with sterile field setup,ensuring adherence to infection control and proceduralprotocols Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compressionor closure devices as directed Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records,imaging data, and equipment logs Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, andensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use oflead aprons, shields, and dosimeters Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines,and regulatory requirements Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned within the scope ofpractice

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

• Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
• To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequentcontact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlinesunder pressure. Must be able to work under close supervisionoccasionally as well as working without assistance from otherpersonnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activityschedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail Sensory
