SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
This position is responsible for serving as the central access point for referring providers and assisting in meeting key service and financial pillar goals. This individual will utilize appropriate protocols and resources, critical thinking, and decision-making skills to navigate the patient through service lines to receive care for referred services. He/she captures patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and registration details and authorizations prior to service completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Utilize critical thinking to analyze the needed coordination for patient care across multidisciplinary care providers. Facilitate timely and efficient referrals and follow up with patients as needed. Schedule appointments when necessary. File & fax referral authorizations as required. Verify insurance eligibility. Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service and quality care of our patients. Maintain effective communication while aligning to all HIPAA guidelines. Escalate barriers to scheduling timely care for patients. Monitor referral inbox and handle according to the level of urgency defined by the organization. Exhibit ability to manage time well and work calmly under pressure. Performs other duties, as assigned.
