Job Description A Dental Insurance Coordinator is responsible for working with insurance companies and verify patients’ benefits, as well as calculating and collecting copays and outstanding balances from patients. They should be proficient in using the dental practice management software to update each patient’s file, run and monitor weekly and monthly reports to verify insurance payments received, and upload completed insurance forms into patients’ chart. A successful Dental Insurance Coordinator has excellent customer service, and keeps a professional relationship with insurance companies. They work closely with patients by, explaining their benefits, and communicates and helps with any insurance concerns. Key Tasks Some if the key tasks are listed below. but not all inclusive. All tasks assigned are not limited to other patient and treatment coordinating tasks. All team members will be cross trained to be able to flow together seamlessly throughout a work day. Verifying the patient’s health insurance benefits. Explaining insurance benefits to patients. Entering data using dental practice management software. Generating reports for all activities. Posting payments made by patients. Following up on non-paid insurance claims. Managing late payments and overdue accounts. Processing insurance payments and refunds. Uploading completed insurance verification forms. Monitoring weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to confirm payment from clients and insurance companies.

Dental Insurance Coordinator Requirements:

High school degree, GED or related. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Proficient with data entry. Microsoft Office experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
