Youth Care Coordinator WeCare Family Connections Pasco, FL Overview:

Providing care and supervision to children and youth in foster care who have experienced the pain of serious emotional distress, mental health disabilities and disorders, trauma, and dysfunctional choices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following, with other duties potentially assigned:

• Serve as staff and a role model for youth, providing direction and oversight of their daily living routines on-site and during community-based activities. Must be able to relate to and build positive connections with at-risk youth and be comfortable working in a strength-based, family-focused environment.
• Provide direct supervision and engage in positive, interactive interactions with youth; teach life skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean, nurturing, and therapeutic home environment.
• Accompany children to and from school bus pickup and drop-off locations.
• Plan and supervise therapeutic on-site and community-based activities.
• Prepare meals/snacks according to the menu; assist youth in acquiring life skills in this area.
• Operate agency vehicles, providing transportation and supervision for community trips, activities, and medical appointments.
• Support academic enrichment and homework; assist with computer-based/e-learning activities as needed.
• Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and report them to the team.
• Administer and document medication to youth as instructed, in accordance with agency procedures. Be aware of all medications and their side effects, documenting and communicating any concerns.
• Complete shift documentation of services provided and maintain paper and electronic records for each child, following agency policies.
• Contribute to the development and revision of house programs, focusing on structure, consistency, and communication.
• Understand and support the residents’ emotional and trametic history , providing feedback to the team about the strengths and challenges faced by youth/families in achieving their goals.
• Attend and participate in house meetings, training, and team discussions.
