$21-$22/hour

Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Join a team that puts people first We’re currently seeking a Referral Coordinator to join a dynamic and service-oriented primary care group in St. Petersburg. If you’re a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping patients access the care they need, we’d love to meet you. About the Role As a Referral Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patients are seamlessly connected to the care they need outside of their primary physician’s office. You’ll be responsible for processing managed care referrals, scheduling appointments with specialists, and communicating effectively with patients and providers to ensure all aspects of the referral process are smooth and timely. What You’ll Do Process and track all patient referrals for non-primary care appointments. Schedule specialist and ancillary appointments for patients by coordinating with external providers. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients to confirm appointments and provide updates. Maintain an up-to-date list of preferred specialists and providers within the assigned area. Obtain and verify referral authorizations as required by health plans. Adhere to referral workflows and log each referral in the system. Meet referral processing goals on a monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure all information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support insurance pre-certification and authorization efforts. Perform additional administrative and coordination tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience as a Referral Coordinator in a primary care or medical office setting is preferred Or Experience as a Front Office Receptionist or Medical Assistant.

Skills:

Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
