This position involves working directly with adults to implement individualized care plans, promote developmental skills, and enhance communication abilities. The Autism Specialist collaborates with educators, therapists, and families to create a supportive environment that fosters growth and learning. Duties Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each adults unique needs. Work directly with adults diagnosed with autism to support their emotional, social, and educational development. Collect and analyze data on adults progress to inform adjustments in care plans. Collaborate with support coordinators and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each adults education. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with DBHDD regulations. Provide training and support to families on strategies for managing behaviors and promoting skill development in the community. Utilize medical terminology effectively when discussing care plans and progress with healthcare providers. Skills Experience working with adults, particularly those diagnosed with autism. Proficiency in data collection methods for tracking developmental progress. Knowledge of special education practices and regulations. Familiarity with creating and implementing effective care plans. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with adults, families, and multidisciplinary teams. This role is essential for creating positive outcomes for children on the autism spectrum while fostering an inclusive environment that supports their growth.
