8:00am-5:00pm Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Privacy Specialist provides outreach to community physician practices for the access and utilization of CareLink, or other web-based electronic health record portal. This role serves as the primary resource for the office as it relates to initial and ongoing access based on the needs of the practice. This position also contributes to the organizational mission and vision by supporting privacy compliance activities including as part of the overarching compliance program. Essential Job Functions Collaborates with providers and practice staff by using excellent communication and relationship building skills with providers Acts as the point of contact for any community practice who would desire access to electronic medical records (EMR) Acts as a resource for the office to obtain initial and ongoing access to CareLink Provides ongoing support for the office on the utilization of CareLink Educates and provides basic training on the features within CareLink Acts as the liaison between the organization and the Practice on any item related to CareLink Investigates, documents, and reports on issues related to privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Requests data and/or access audits of electronic systems and incorporates audit finding results into investigations. Creates and maintains electronic documentation for privacy incident investigations, resolutions, and corrective actions/sanctions This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Licensing/Certification Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or other compliance or privacy certification (preferred) Education Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, legal, or other related filed (preferred) Work Experience 2 years of experience within healthcare operations or compliance related activities (required) 1 years of recent experience in physician practices (preferred) Training- Epic or other EHR (required) CompliancePro Health (preferred) Roper St. Francis Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer.
