PRN SUMMARY
The Medical Respite Technician provides quality supportive care to residents of the Sulzbacher Medical Respite. Under the supervision of the r Respite Manager, the Technician’s clinical duties include assisting clients with personal hygiene, accompanying clients to clinic appointments where needed, assisting clients to maintain the cleanliness of their rooms, and reporting pertinent information to the Respite Manager, RN or clinic healthcare provider. The Technician also coordinates with the clinic personnel, case managers and other members of the healthcare team to support efficient respite operations and ensure a positive client experience. The role of the Medical Case Manager in the homeless shelter environment is an interdisciplinary position. The Medical Case Manager will provide direct case management services to clients of the center which will include medical linkage, linkage to support services and housing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the client to maintain hygiene, including but not limited to bathing/showering, oral hygiene, nail care, changing of clothes, etc. Maintains cleanliness of client’s room by changing linens as needed and providing a clean environment to avoid infections Provides mental and emotional support as needed; communicates with clients to help them feel more at ease Maintains respite equipment by cleaning and sterilizing as needed after use Assists in scheduling appointments and transportation Accompanies clients to referral appointments if needed Monitors and records client activity/ changes and informing supervisors of any issues or potential issues the client may be experiencing; documents any accidents, errors that may affect the client Processes and records Admissions and Discharges Participates in other clinical or administrative projects as assigned by the Respite Manager or Health Services Operations Director The Medical Case Manager will provide direct case management services to clients of the Respite center which will include medical linkage, and linkage to support services and housing. All other duties as assigned.
RESIDENT, CLIENT AND INTERNAL CUSTOMER FOCUS
The Medical Respite Technician is sensitive to emotional, spiritual and practical needs of resident, families, guests and staff members in all interactions. Provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by residents, families and coworkers. Adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. Reports and/or corrects problems related to safety, cleanliness and comfort of resident and work areas. Universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques are followed. Understands own role facility safety plans and procedures related to fire, weather and other disasters is demonstrated. EXPERIENCE
Qualifications Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening High School Diploma/ GED Credentialed Medical Assistants who have graduated from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program or Certified Nursing Assistant licensed in the state of Florida Current CPR certificate Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills Ability to work in fast paced environment Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions Transportation and valid Florida driver’s license Work various shifts as required to ensure that health services are adequately administered Ability to travel Works in typical clinical office setting Must be able to lift 20 pounds
