Description The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a highlyenergetic and motivated Clinician I/II to work with a multi-genderpopulation with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurringmental health disorders and their families. Responsible forcompleting intake and assessments, individualized services plans,submitting timely and accurate requests for authorization ofservices to MCO’s’; connecting with needed resources and complyingwith weekly supervision schedules to ensure clinical approach isfully implemented. Individual will provide care coordination,maintain linkages with referral sources, to include case managersand clinicians, advocate for needed resources, and monitor allservices related to the individual’s needs. Attends staff meetings,weekly supervision, clinical staffing’s, and multi-disciplinarytreatment team meetings. Maintains medical records in accordancewith quality standards. Provides individual, group and familytherapy as required. Essential Functions Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups; providesindividual, family and group counseling; implements treatmentplans; coordinates daily treatment schedule. Monitors and manages an assigned caseload. Provides crisis intervention services to individuals andfamilies. Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files; preparesvarious reports and case related correspondence. Provides consultation, education and prevention services; providesdrug and alcohol testing. Participates in clinical, administrative and supervisory meetings;collaborates with other staff members concerning cases. Performs intakes, client assessments and diagnostic interviews, anddevelops and writes comprehensive intake and diagnostic summariesand reports; conducts mental health assessment and monitors levelof functioning. Delivers, provides and monitors medications; provides physician andstaff with updates; maintains medical records in accordance withstandards. Prioritizes medication and lab work monitoring with medical staffto maintain compliance. Manages and documents contacts; enters and updates information indatabase. Coordinates case management services; coordinates and links clientto community resources and medical services; interfaces with otherservice providers and client support system. Attends professional conferences and trainings as required. Provides child minding assistance to clients attending treatmentgroups, as needed. Provides transportation assistance, as needed. Attends court as needed to update the court on the participant’sprogress and/or status of new referrals. Supervises student interns as directed. Working knowledge related to the needs of individuals with SUDs andco-occurring mental health disorders; behavioral health issues;evidence-based practices for the treatment of individuals withco-occurring disorders to include medicated assisted treatment;good oral and written communication skills; ability to maintainrecords according to pertinent regulatory, reimbursement, agencyand professional standards; ability to work as a team and providewritten reports on a weekly basis; ability to advocate for client’streatment needs and lead multi-disciplinary treatment team; strongunderstanding of the federal regulations regarding substance abuseconfidentiality issues. Must have the sensory skills in order toeffectively communicate and interact with other employees and thepublic through the use of the telephone and personal contact asnormally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle orfeel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively useand operate various items of office related equipment, such as, butnot limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and faxmachine. Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carryingbending, kneeling, crawling, reaching and handling, pushing andpulling.

Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or approvedhuman services approved related degree required. Experience in a behavioral health setting required. Licensed or license-eligible required. CSAC preferred. Special Requirements Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. CPR, CPI, Medication Technician and Prescreener certifications. RN, CSAC, CADC or certification/license eligible preferred. Qualifying Clinician staff will be eligible for a $4K sign-on bonusas defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-onbonus policy.
