- OBJECTIVES/PURPOSEUnder the direction of the Director of Mental Health and Substance UseServices, the Assistant Director provides a coordinative and supervisoryfunction in this division.
The Assistant Director works in concert withthe Director to assist UCS in providing quality, efficient services toadults, children, and families.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0 COORDINATION
AND CLINICAL SUPERVISION OF OUTPATIENT SERVICES
Provides clinical oversight and supervisory functions for the OutpatientMental Health and Substance Use Division. Advocates on behalf of staffand clients for necessary services, changes, and problem-solving, so asto enhance and maintain quality services for this population. Acts as aSenior Clinician and Supervisor second in command to the Director.
Provides leadership in the strategic planning process. Represents thedivision at necessary meetings within and outside UCS and providesadministrative direction in the absence of the Director. Provides directclinical supervision to non-licensed staff of the division or agency ona limited basis.2.0 DIRECT
CLINICAL SERVICES
Provides assessment and counseling to individuals and families withmental health and/or substance use problems. Services may includeindividuals, families, relationships, and group therapy. Participates inagency emergency assessment/screening services. Coordinates serviceswith other agencies and providers. Facilitates appropriate referrals forother services when necessary. Coordinates and provides psychologicaltesting or other specialized assessment/screening services based onprofessional concentration and training.3.0 CONSULTATION
AND EDUCATION SERVICES
Provides mental health and/or substance use consultation to community atlarge, area agencies, the professional community, and/or schools asrequired. Consultation can be educational or evaluative in nature.
Specific areas of consultation/education are based on clinicians areasof expertise or interest. 4.0 CLINICAL
CASE MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SUPPORT
Provides concurrent case management services on an as needed basis.
These services may include service coordination with other agencies andservices; collateral contacts with other family members or significantothers in client’s life; telephone support to clients or collaterals;social support services for locating, developing, or providing careservices; or treatment planning session.5.0 CLINICAL
RECORD KEEPING
Initiates and maintains in a timely and thorough manner the wide varietyof record keeping and administrative documentation required to accountfor our services to clients. Such work includes, but is not limited to,client-specific assessments, case services, and progress notes, timesheets, schedules, billing reports to third party payers, assignedperiodic reports such as RBA or SAMHA reports and to assist with stateaudits.6.0 ADMINISTRATIVE,
