- Qualifications
- The Crisis Recovery Specialist (CRS) provides a wide variety of clinicaland case management services to persons served, including clinicalservices, case management services, support, rehabilitative skillbuilding, therapeutic interventions, and advocacy in accordance with theMental Health Provider Manual written and mandated by the VermontDepartment of Mental Health.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES

CLINICAL:
- Provides case management, skill development, coordination, andcollaboration with peer support services; participation in theday-to-day program activities and coordinating with post-acute crisisrecovery services in the home environment as well as accompanying theEmergency Clinician in community settings.
Works to assure familyparticipation is full and transparent, whenever it is clinicallyappropriate. Assist with clients at Battelle House who may be in crisis,assist in running groups at Battelle House, help with meal prep andclean up.

CLIENT SUPPORT SERVICES
- Administration of admissions and discharges once an individual has beenaccepted into the unit.
This includes conducting the admission interviewand checklist, making sure all forms and releases are signed, as well astaking an inventory of personal belongings. While client is admitted theCRS will provide support and answer questions helping the individualadjust to the house and the program. Assist in helping clients conductout-patient intakes either in-person or electronically. Help form andfacilitate client groups and morning/evening check-ins.

CLINICAL SUPPORT:
- Provides clinical support and case consultation alongside other membersof UCS Emergency Services.
Assist in pre-screening, triaging, andappropriately routing crisis calls. CRS will also offer support andverbal de-escalation to crisis callers when appropriate. CRS willelevate calls to the Emergency Clinician when indicated. CRS willconduct bed calls, referrals, and prior authorizations or inpatientpsychiatric hospitalization. They will send the appropriate informationto receiving facilities via fax or secure email.
- MEDICATION
ADMINISTRATION
- Provide basic medical care including checking vital signs uponadmission/discharge and assisting the UCS nursing and medical staff withother appropriate duties. CRS will be trained and then medicationdelegated. They will assist nursing and medical teams with obtaining andadministering medications. This may include helping clients pick upmedications.

IDENTIFICATION AND OUTREACH
- Provides outreach services to members of the community in need. Providesprotection and advocacy of client rights, whenever possible. Providespersons served and families with referral information and assistance tomeet needs not assured by our agency.

- Works to ensure the highest quality of services throughout the agency byparticipation in committees, qualityassurance activities, and interdepartmental activities.
