North Alabama Medical Center’s 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama. Shoals Hospital is a 178-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.

Position Summary:

The Imaging Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of East and Shoals Radiology departments, with additional support provided to the NAMC Imaging department as needed. This leadership role is divided weekly between East and Shoals locations to ensure consistent management and alignment with departmental goals. The Imaging Manager works collaboratively with the Director and other support leadership roles, participating in a rotating on-call schedule. Key responsibilities include operational oversight, staff management, budget and resource monitoring, regulatory compliance, and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role plays a vital part in supporting the organization’s strategic plan by fostering professional development, integrating evidence-based practices, and maintaining effective interdepartmental coordination. The Imaging Manager also serves as a liaison to both internal and external stakeholders and must consistently exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, and adherence to healthcare compliance standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two (2) years of education: Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree Graduate of Program in Discipline, required or validated by current licensure Must have a minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (BLS)
