Full Job Description Overview:

Responsible for the day to day operations of the Phlebotomy, Central Processing and Specimen Accessioning Departments to include ensuring competency of all employees in areas of specimen collection/processing and customer service.

Qualifications:

Education High School diploma or GED required. MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) required or obtained within six months of being hired, if hired after October 2018. Associate Degree preferred for supervision of non-testing personnel. Experience Minimum of one year supervisory experience strongly preferred. Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience required. Additional Skills/Abilities Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the identification and reporting of number and names required. Must have the ability to make decisions concerning resources, technical problems, or other needs of the department with minimal direction. Thorough knowledge of the Phlebotomy department, manuals, laboratory administrative procedures, safety manuals including ECP and customer service requirements required.
