Key Responsibilities:

Licensing, Certification, and Compliance:
- Lead the process of obtaining required laboratory licenses and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CLIA and other relevant standards.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections by regulatory agencies and accreditation boards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain ongoing compliance.

Operational Leadership:
- Establish and oversee all aspects of laboratory operations, including specimen collection, management, in-house and referral testing services.
- Provide strategic direction for the development and expansion of laboratory services.
- Monitor laboratory performance to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Develop and oversee quality control programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Implement monitoring systems for quality assessment, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by proactively responding to patient and provider feedback.

Financial and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the laboratory budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Oversee resource utilization, including payroll, supplies, and equipment procurement.
- Analyze financial and operational data to guide decision-making and ensure sustainability.

Staff Development and Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise laboratory personnel, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Community Outreach and Expansion:
- Develop strategies to expand laboratory services beyond the clinic’s patient base.
- Establish relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations to promote laboratory services.
- Identify opportunities for new testing services to meet community needs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
- State of Florida Supervisor’s License in at least three areas: Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, or Serology/Immunology.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in setting up a new laboratory or expanding existing laboratory services is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
