Job Description

Laboratory Manager Tampa, Florida 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 5911 Breckenridge Parkway, Tampa, FL 33610 Job Responsibilities & Requirements Manage and maintain the laboratory facility to ensure a safe, productive environment. Maintain and ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated. Maintain satisfactory Lab Qualifications and audits through FDOT. Manage internal documentation and procedures and perform during the accreditation and certification process. Ensure testing results are reported within specification-dictated timelines and communicated internally throughout the testing process. Plan, recruit, and provide recommendations for laboratory staff. Coordinate and facilitate proper training for lab and field personnel. Directly supervise and perform laboratory activities and testing procedures. Ensure that laboratory processes and personnel adhere to the requirements of the MC2 Quality Management Program and guidelines set forth by AASHTO and ASTM Work with the Department Managers to ensure proper lab resources are in place to meet project needs. Heavy lifting may be part of the day-to-day job (>70lb) Assist in updating SOP (standard operating procedures) and QMS (quality management systems). Assist in Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) duties. Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (preferred) Work Experience 3+ years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials (working on FDOT projects is preferred)
