This position requires applicants to successfully pass a pre-employment, as well as an annual pulmonary function test (PFT). This position may expose the employee to isocyanates which are chemicals known to be respiratory irritants and sensitizers. While TSE provides personal protective equipment (PPE) to its employees working around such chemicals, the most current and best available medical data indicate that individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions including but not limited to asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and the like are at high risk of experiencing serious, and possibly fatal reactions to isocyanates, even at concentrations below the legally permissible exposure level (PEL). Therefore, due to this direct threat to their safety, TSE does not hire individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions to work in this position.
Position Summary:
The Lab Supervisor supports the Lab Manager in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures effective execution of laboratory processes, supervises lab personnel in the absence of the Lab Manager, and contributes to maintaining
ISO 9001
compliance. The Lab Supervisor plays a key role in quality control for raw materials, in-process products, and final finished goods, and also assists with training new team members and scheduling lab activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise laboratory staff and daily lab activities in coordination with or in the absence of the Lab Manager. Assist in scheduling lab shifts and tasks to ensure timely completion of testing and quality activities. Perform quality control testing on incoming raw materials, in-process batches, and final products, ensuring conformance to company specifications and regulatory standards. Approve or reject finished products based on lab results and quality standards. Participate in
ISO 9001
quality management system activities, including audits, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts. Help oversee adherence to safety and compliance protocols within the lab environment. Provide guidance and training to new lab employees to ensure accurate and consistent testing practices. Support investigation of non-conformances and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain and calibrate lab instruments and ensure accurate recordkeeping of test results and logs. Assist the Lab Manager in data review, reporting, and development of lab-related procedures and policies. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field. 3+ years of experience in a chemical laboratory setting; prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Familiarity with

quality systems and documentation practices. Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols, chemical testing, and quality control procedures. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with lab data systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lead by example and maintain a team-oriented, high-performance work environment.
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily based in a laboratory environment and requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Some exposure to chemicals, noise, and equipment is expected.
