This role is crucial in maintaining product integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in laboratory processes. The ideal candidate will oversee quality control and laboratory operations , demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while optimizing workflow efficiency. Proficiency in laboratory information management systems and various analytical techniques is essential to uphold industry standards and enhance production quality. Responsibilities Perform duties to ensure product quality, safety, and environmental health Conduct analyses of hydrated alcohol, neutral alcohol, and their derivatives Lead and develop the laboratory team by providing training and ensuring adherence to occupational safety and health practices Analyze yeast fermentation processes Conduct chemical and quality analysis Test effluents, including phlegm, vinasse, boiler water, and cooling tower water Maintain and manage sample inventory Analyze samples from potential hydrated alcohol suppliers Prepare laboratory solutions Sterilize bottles and maintain lab cleanliness Standardized documents and product quality standards Develop product technical data sheets Perform laboratory tests using appropriate methodologies to ensure products meet customer quality requirements Collect samples in the field (production area and shipping) of finished products or raw materials to ensure quality specifications Conduct analyses and record results according to operational procedures to ensure quality in task execution Comply with good manufacturing, laboratory, and safety practices Critically analyze results of products and raw materials to ensure quality and specifications. Ability to facilitate and assist in customer audits, ensuring compliance and quality assurance Manage laboratory processes Maintain and calibrate equipment Train and develop the team Ensure documentation and compliance Experience with industry standards such as HACCP, FSSC, or GHG emissions is a plus Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in supervising staff within a laboratory environment. Familiarity with FDA regulations governing laboratory practices is essential. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to team members and stakeholders.
