Lab Supervisor IBiochemistry and Molecular Biology Location:
New Orleans, LA Summary The Laboratory Supervisor I is responsible for oversight of day to day lab operations in the Han research laboratory. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and the coordination of repair and/or maintenance of the labs with facilities services and/or vendors. This position will also involve developing and troubleshooting genetic, genomic and microscopic assays including genetic and genomic analysis, confocal microscopy, and maintaining oversight over a mouse colony. The position will also involve training and supervising undergraduate students. This individual will also serve as the laboratory safety representative and work with the Department Safety Representative and OEHS. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’ degree in a biological science and 3 years of directly related work experience Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in biological sciences
- Experience in electronic record keeping
- Proficiency with UNIX and next-gen sequence analysis
- Experience in graphic display of experimental data
