PURPOSE :
This position is responsible for all aspects of laboratory operations including staff management, quality control, compliance with regulations, and ensuring optimal specimen processing. The Lab Manager will work closely with the clinical team to maintain high standards of practice and patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides oversight of laboratory diagnostics including establishing specimen preparation procedures and analytical methods. Ensures compliance with
COLA/CLIA
regulations and implements quality assurance measures. Maintains laboratory equipment and infrastructure; coordinates servicing and necessary repairs. Supervises, trains, and evaluates lab staff, ensuring operational efficiency. Oversees inventory management; ensures lab is stocked with necessary supplies. Implements new testing methodologies and laboratory procedures, monitoring effectiveness. Interacts with physicians and patients in a professional manner, providing exceptional service. Facilitates communication with referring physicians and clinical team for optimal lab performance. Ensures lab cleanliness and safety protocols are followed diligently. Maintains ongoing education on state and professional guidelines. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, life sciences, or a related field. 3+ years of laboratory management or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of
COLA/CLIA
