Hudson County, NJ Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Cath Lab Manager to lead our dynamic Cardiovascular and Neurointerventional Lab. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Cath Lab professional with a strong clinical background in a wide range of procedures, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage daily operations and foster a culture of continuous learning. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in a Cath Lab setting, including at least one year in a charge or leadership position.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations of the Cath Lab, ensuring efficient patient flow, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Clinical Expertise:
Provide expert clinical guidance and oversight for a comprehensive range of procedures, including but not limited to: Cardiac Catheterizations and Angioplasties (PCI) Electrophysiology (EP) procedures (preferred, but not required if not explicitly part of current scope) Neurointerventional procedures (e.g., thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, AVM embolization) Peripheral vascular interventions
Staff Development & Training:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs for Cath Lab staff, ensuring competency in all procedures, equipment, and protocols. Mentor and coach team members to promote professional growth and enhance clinical skills.
Quality Assurance & Improvement:
Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure exceptional patient care and outcomes. Participate in and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab.
Scheduling & Staffing:
Manage staff scheduling, assignments, and daily adjustments to ensure appropriate staffing levels and coverage for all procedures.
Budget Management:
Collaborate with leadership to manage the Cath Lab budget, including equipment, supplies, and staffing.
Policy & Procedure Development:
Develop, review, and revise Cath Lab policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance.
Equipment Management:
Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper use of all Cath Lab equipment. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment as appropriate.
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Foster strong collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing staff, other hospital departments, and external vendors to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all hospital policies, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and joint commission standards.
Performance Management:
Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address any performance-related issues with Cath Lab staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred. Other relevant healthcare degrees (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology) considered with extensive Cath Lab experience and leadership roles.
Licensure/Certification:
Current, unencumbered RN license in [State] (if applicable for nursing background). Relevant certifications such as RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RT(R) (Radiologic Technologist, Radiography) preferred. BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of recent, hands-on experience in an acute care Cath Lab setting. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a charge nurse or similar leadership/supervisory role within a Cath Lab. Demonstrated experience with a wide range of Cath Lab procedures, including cardiac angioplasty, neurointerventional procedures, and other complex vascular interventions.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills related to Cath Lab procedures and patient care. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff effectively. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and Cath Lab information systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$115,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
