Position Summary The College of Engineering Lab Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the Machine Shop and related equipment for the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Responsibilities include:

ensuring that supplies are available and equipment is in good working condition, ordering all laboratory materials, maintaining up-to-date documentation, rental of equipment, and providing instruction and assistance to faculty, staff and students on the use of equipment. The incumbent assists with student-design projects and machining functions. Performs other duties as assigned. At Temple, you will find it easy to fit in while staying true to yourself. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field At least 3 years of directly related experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities Ability to build and maintain experimental setups Expertise in basic electric and electronic repair Expertise in CNC machining Demonstrated ability to operate lab equipment Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff Demonstrated ability to make independent judgment Excellent customer service and organizational skills Ability to supervise student workers Ability to run a machine shop Ability to operate and maintain specialized heavy and/or sensitive laboratory/scientific equipment and machine tools.
