This is a PRN Position Riverview Regional MedicalCenter is looking for a CLS or MLT for our Clinical Laboratory. Inthis role you will provide laboratory testing on patient specimenswhile ensuring laboratory results are accurate and timely. We arelooking for someone with a passion for the lab and is excited aboutpartnering with our Physicians, Nurses and Hospital Staff in aneffort to provide the best patient care.

Shift:

6:00AM-6:30PM (12hour shift, plus 30 minute lunch) Responsibilities & RequiriementsMedical Laboratory Technician (MLT) can perform waived, highly andmoderately complex testing, as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489).Must possess a degree of skill commensurate with individual’seducation, training or experience and technical abilities Eachindividual performing the above procedures must: 1) adhere to thelaboratory’s procedures for the collection, processing, analysis,and reporting of patient test results. 2) follow the laboratory’sestablished quality control policies and procedures in documentingall corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from thelaboratory’s established performance specifications. 3) be capableof identifying problems that may adversely affect test performanceand either correct the problem or immediately notify your immediatesupervisor, Director, or Medical Director. 4) perform waived orhighly and moderately complex laboratory procedures using bothmanual and automated methods in, Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis,Coagulation, Microbiology and Immunolog., 5) perform and documentmaintenance – daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed on instrumentsand equipment as appropriate. 6) review the accuracy of patientresults prior to releasing or reporting. 7) recognize age specificdifferences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics. 8)ensure that the testing of proficiency testing samples are testedin the same manner as patient samples and that collaboration withother laboratories is prohibited prior to the reporting ofproficiency testing results to the appropriate agencies’ 9) may berequired to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on variousage groups from newborn to geriatrics. 10) assist in thedevelopment and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.11) adheres to all department and hospital policies and proceduresrelated to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, andhuman resources. 12) in the absence of a supervisor, may beassigned/identified as Lead Tech, having responsibility for thesection or department during their shift. 13) other tasks orresponsibilities may be assigned by the departmentmanager/director.

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience 1.Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in astate where required 2. ASCP certification, or equivalent, requiredwithin one year of employment 3. Associates Degree in chemical,physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in aprogram for
