In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate professional oversight,analyses, tests, and diagnostic procedures in a medical researchlaboratory. If you’re passionate about laboratory science andmaking an impact in veterinary medicine, we want to hear fromyou! Essential Functions Develops protocols and standard operating procedures, ensuringcompliance with Federal, State, University, and accrediting agencypolicy regarding veterinary medical laboratories. Performs and reviews quality controls in testing and decides ifresults are within acceptable ranges and researches and correctsproblems. Operates, calibrates, maintains, and cleans equipment used inquantitative analysis. Conducts chemical analysis of specimens including blood, urine,and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormalcomponents. Assists in training students, residents, and staff inlaboratory procedures and use of hospital/laboratory informationdata management system. Trains and directs lab assistants, staff, and students onproper methods of collection of specimens and laboratorytesting. Assists in the evaluation of new equipment and procedures foruse in research and the clinical laboratory. Prepares technical reports on procedures and results oflaboratory tests and examinations. Negotiates vendor contracts for purchasing supplies, materials,and equipment for economic efficiency of lab. Prepares department invoices and annual income/expensereports. Why Work at Auburn?
