POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education /

Training:

Earned a Polysomnographic Technologist diploma or degree form acollege or university. RPSGT or at least one year of Registered PolysomnographicTechnologist experience.

TN State License Polysomnographic Technologist BLS Workplace Experience:
Diagnostic Services Equipment and Skills Training:

Computerized Polysomnographic Testing Equipment; CPAP; NetworkComputer System; Pulse Oximetry;

Oxygen Titration Physical Environment:
Sleep Center Physical Effort:

Able to communicate in English both verbally and legibly. Able to sit/stand/walk for up to ten hours a day.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Prepares patient physically and psychologically for testing,and provides emotional support. Performs procedures according to Williamson Health andDepartmental Standards. Documents actions taken and patient’s response. Provides patient with discharge instructions. Prepare completed test for interpretation. Prepares and maintains exam room for procedures. Maintains equipment and notifies ClinicalCoordinator/Maintenance of needed repairs. Notifies ClinicalCoordinator of supply needs. Attends in-services and other educational programs. Assist with the orientation and training of new personnel. Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications orspecial assignments Communicate outcomes and opportunities for improvement in thesleep lab care delivery team/system. Maintain position specific qualifications.
