MLT Certification Full Job Description Overview:
RBC is currently hiring Medical Technologists (Clinical Lab Scientists) to support the Central Alabama VA Health Care System (CAVHCS) in Montgomery, AL, under a multi-year federal contract. Position Summary As a Medical Technologist (Clinical Lab Scientist) , you will play a critical role in the clinical laboratory by performing a broad range of diagnostic testing and analysis in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Immunology, and Urinalysis. You will work closely with other laboratory professionals and healthcare providers to ensure the highest quality laboratory services are delivered to our nation’s veterans. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology, and Blood Bank. Validate and verify test results and ensure regulatory compliance. Accurately report critical results and maintain proper documentation. Troubleshoot instruments and ensure proper maintenance and calibration. Participate in quality assurance, safety procedures, and infection control standards. Support staff meetings, proficiency testing, and ongoing training initiatives. Use VA systems such as VISTA for result entry and documentation. Required Experience A minimum of 1 year of experience as a generalist in a clinical laboratory setting.
Preferred:
Prior experience in Microbiology and VA healthcare systems. Education, Certifications & Licenses Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field. Certification as MT, MLS, or CLS by
ASCP , AMT
, or an equivalent board. Completion of a clinical practice program in medical technology. Compliance with all credentialing requirements, including TB test, immunizations, and OSHA certifications. Work Location Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHCS) 215 Perryhill Road, Montgomery, AL 36117 This position is 100% onsite. No hybrid or remote option available.
