We have an immediate opening for a full-time Motion Analysis & Human Performance Lab Technologist

SHIFT:

8am – 5pm
Monday – Friday
Full-Time

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lab set-up and preparation of research participants
Data collection under direct/general supervision
Data processing, storing, and archiving
Lab maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. in kinesiology, exercise science, neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, biomedical engineering, or similar
An associate’s degree in applied life or allied health sciences will be considered
Computer proficiency: Windows/Microsoft Word and Excel mandatory
No previous research or similar work experience necessary

The Motion Analysis & Human Performance Lab serves for evaluation of movement deficits after stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and related conditions. The Lab is primarily used for research purposes and occupies about 1,400 of 4,500 sq. ft. of dedicated research space located in the main Methodist building, which is on the campus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. The employee will work under the supervision of the Lab Director and the Research Engineer and collaborate with the research personnel in the NeuroRobotics and Neurophysiology Labs. 12 Eagle and 6 Hawk infrared digital cameras (Motion Analysis Corp.) with Cortex software
A wireless 16-channel EMG-accelerometer system (Trigno, Delsys Inc.); two wired (10- and 16-channel) EMG systems (Motion Lab System, Baton Rouge, LA)
5 force plates (Bertec) for measuring ground reaction forces during gait and postural control
2 electronic walkways (Zeno 20x4ft, GAITRite 16x3ft) for temporo-spatial gait analysis
An isokinetic dynamometer (Biodex) for evaluation of muscle force production
A ceiling lift (660lb capacity) for safe transfers
