Description of Work Cherry Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Medical Laboratory Technologist I. Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory, this position is responsible for a wide variety of both moderate and high complexity laboratory tests. Professional judgement is a requirement for this position. The person will be responsible for producing accurate and reliable test results which contribute to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of physiological and pathological conditions. This position is for a Lead POC Coordinator, Laboratory Safety and a Generalist. CAP regulatory standards will be followed. •This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. Anticipated Vacancy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Considerable knowledge of the variety of laboratory procedures. Thorough knowledge of the hazards of working with potentially infectious materials and the appropriate safety precautions to avoid infections. Demonstrated experience using laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology.
Knowledge of the pathophysiological processes being monitored and how the medical laboratory science is applied. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution
OR
Associate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a medical laboratory
OR
Completion of a Certified Laboratory Assistant course in medical technology OR
a comparable course and three years of experience in a medical laboratory
OR
