ATTRIBUTES
- BS in Medical Technology or BSin a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or The Physical Sciences)and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New YorkState Department of Education for licensure as a ClinicalLaboratory Technologist. (NYS Dept of Education, Education Law,Title 8, Article 165, sub-parts 79-15; 9/23/8).
- Previousexperience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit, but notrequired.
- Certification by American Society for ClinicalPathology (ASCP) preferred, but not required.
- Excellentcommunication and evaluation skills
- Exceptional documentationskills and attention to detail
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis ℜporting. Perform precise specimen analysis and report resultsaccurately, following established procedures; recognize deviationfrom expected results, analyze and correct problems usingscientific principles; complete QC Action Logs, preventativemaintenance logs and pending lists daily
- Training & Development.
Assist with training new personnel on responsibilities in thelaboratory; evaluate progress of training; make recommendations fortraining methods and content
- Evaluation.
Continuously assess workprocesses and make suggestions for improved work methods and waysto increase efficiency, reduce costs and solve operationalproblems; monitor departmental reagent inventories

- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequentwalking, standing or squatting.
