SCHEDULE

7.5hr shifts

ATTRIBUTES
  • Six (6) or more years ofexperience as a medical technologist
  • Previous experience in alaboratory supervisory or leadership position preferred
  • Abilityto work independently and on a team
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
  • BS in Medical Technology or BS in a relatedScience (Biology, Chemistry, or The Physical Sciences) and/orequivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York StateDepartment of Education for licensure as a Clinical LaboratoryTechnologist. (NYS Dept of Education, Education Law, Title 8,Article 165, sub-parts 79-15; 9/23/8).
  • New York State Departmentof Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical LaboratoryTechnologist.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lab Management.

Performspecialized and complex diagnostic procedures; accurately preparereagents and maintain proper inventory of laboratory sectionsupplies; interpret and correlate clinical test results withpatient history, diagnosis and clinical condition in order toexplain test results; communicate stat and critical lab results;perform quality control, routine and advanced maintenance andinstrument troubleshooting

  • Technical Knowledge. Maintainknowledge of required computer functions associated with testingand to assist in completing testing and workflow management; mayconduct research and development of new or updated technologies andprovide written evaluation to supervisor
  • Leadership.

Assist intraining new and existing employees on new procedures andinstrumentation; act as a technical consultant to technologists,technicians and/or students rotating through their area; teach inthe School of Medical Technology and Lab rotations as needed

PAY RANGE

$41.00

  • $45.

50 The listed base payrange is a good faith representation of current potential base payfor a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in thefuture and eligible for additional pay components. Pay isdetermined by factors including experience, relevantqualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, andcontracts.
