GENERAL OVERVIEW

Performs various technical and support laboratory duties under the guidance of a medical technologist competent in the area of testing. Requires decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced and high volume environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods Operates, calibrates, checks, maintains instrumentation and recognizes and communicates with a certified medical technologist if there are any problems with quality controls Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts Participates in medical technology learning models or technical development modules to ensure growth and development of the laboratory Provides support such as answering telephones, faxing reports and reporting stat and critical value results Performs other duties as assigned or required

EXPERIENCE

Required Preferred Experience in clinical laboratory.

SKILLS EDUCATION

Required Bachelor’s in biology, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science. Preferred LICENSES or

CERTIFICATIONS
