Our healthcare client in Anderson, SC is looking for a Medical Lab Technologist for a Permanent fulltime position. This is 32 hours a week Night Shift Position.

Position Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing accurate and timely laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid in diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease. This role requires adherence to established protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure reliable test results and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform clinical laboratory tests and procedures on blood, body fluids, and tissue specimens according to established protocols.
Analyze test results and report findings accurately and promptly to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, recognizing and troubleshooting instrument malfunctions.
Follow strict quality control, safety, and infection control guidelines.
Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures.
Document all activities accurately in accordance with lab policies and regulatory standards.
Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with evolving technology and best practices.
Qualifications (based on certification path):
MLT (ASCP)

Eligible:

Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Eligible for MLT (ASCP) certification or HHS equivalent.
MLT (ASCP):
Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP required.
MLT (HEW):
Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Certification as MLT under HEW standards required.
MT (ASCP)

Eligible:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science.
Eligible for MT (ASCP) certification or HHS certification.
MT (ASCP):
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science.
Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP or equivalent nationally recognized agency required.
