Medical Lab Technologist Job Description Actalent is currently partnering with a lab in the Nashville area in need of multiple Medical Lab Technologists/Medical Lab Technicians to join their team. They are hiring for Generalist and Core Lab roles. Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with the processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Essential Skills Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. ASCP certification preferred (requires TN license if not ASCP, AMT, or AAD certified). Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university. Certification as a Medical Technologist or MLT required.
