POSITION SUMMARY
To perform polysomnographic testing.
POSITIONREQUIREMENTS
Formal Education /
Training:
Earned a PolysomnographicTechnologist diploma or degree form a college or university. RPSGTor at least one year of Registered Polysomnographic Technologistexperience.
TN State License Polysomnographic Technologist BLSWorkplace Experience:
Diagnostic Services Equipment and SkillsTraining:
Computerized Polysomnographic Testing Equipment; CPAP;Network Computer System; Pulse Oximetry;
Oxygen Titration PhysicalEnvironment:
Sleep Center Physical Effort:
Able to communicate inEnglish both verbally and legibly. Able to sit/stand/walk for up toten hours a day.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Prepares patient physicallyand psychologically for testing, and provides emotional support.
Performs procedures according to Williamson Health and DepartmentalStandards. Documents actions taken and patient’s response. Providespatient with discharge instructions. Prepare completed test forinterpretation. Prepares and maintains exam room for procedures.
Maintains equipment and notifies Clinical Coordinator/Maintenanceof needed repairs. Notifies Clinical Coordinator of supply needs.
Attends in-services and other educational programs. Assist with theorientation and training of new personnel. Demonstratesresponsibility for assigned communications or special assignmentsCommunicate outcomes and opportunities for improvement in the sleeplab care delivery team/system. Maintain position specificqualifications.
