Position Summary
Compensation is based on 19 hours per week. If not indicated, the hourly rate will be determined by the supervisor.
To coordinate clinical learning and/or laboratory experiences for all learners in collaboration with the nursing program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of course and end of program student learning outcomes for the nursing program and lab schedules. This position will rotate between the Shelby and Jefferson Campuses based on need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Function in accordance with the philosophy, rules and regulations of the college, nursing program, and clinical agencies.
2. Assist in Scheduling outside clinical learning and/or lab rotations in collaboration with ADON, Clinical Educator, nursing faculty, and simulation supervisor for nursing students at each campus location and program option.
3. Assist the Clinical Educator in collecting and distributing clinical orientation paperwork for facilities from students, recruiting new clinical instructors and collecting appropriate paperwork.
4. Assist with make-up clinical rotations with the Clinical Nurse Educator, course coordinators, faculty, students, and clinical facilities.
5. Assist with orientation and training of L19 clinical/lab part-time faculty regarding clinical requirements, nursing policies, EHR, clinical paperwork, and student evaluations.
6. Assist with the apprenticeship program working with the NEP, AOA, clinical employers, and students each semester as needed.
7. Assist with meetings for employers and students to discuss the apprenticeship program each semester.
8. Assist the Clinical Nurse Educator to educate current employers and apprenticeship students on policies and procedures of the nursing and apprenticeship programs.
9. Assist in obtaining appropriate and required paperwork for all apprentice students and apprenticeship employers.
10. Visit and monitor nursing apprenticeship and other students in clinical facilities as needed.
11. Assist with monitoring, obtaining, and keeping track of clinical facility contracts to make sure they are current.
12. Maintain a high level of competence and expertise in clinical practice.
13. Demonstrate effective communication skills and professionalism.
14. Model professional standards of behavior, including collaboration, communication, excellence, dress code, and attendance.
15. Demonstrate commitment in maintaining nursing accreditation standards.
16. Maintain good working relationships with clinical agencies and staff.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required; Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) or more years of full-time clinical nursing experience required.

Other:

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama, current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
