Position Overview:

The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator provides advanced respiratory care and serves as the lead educator for respiratory therapy practices within Agape’s Way group homes. This dual-function role combines hands-on clinical expertise with staff development responsibilities to ensure safe, effective, and consistent respiratory care in a 24-hour skilled nursing environment. In addition to providing direct care, the Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and implementing tailored educational programs that address the training needs of respiratory staff. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and aligning education with clinical best practices, this role enhances staff competency, promotes quality care, and supports improved patient outcomes across all group home settings.

Required Qualifications:

Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state of Florida Minimum of 2 years of direct respiratory care experience in acute, subacute, or long-term care settings Demonstrated experience teaching or mentoring clinical staff in respiratory care Expertise in tracheostomy, ventilator, suctioning, and oxygen therapy management Current BLS certification Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, team-centered care environment

Responsibilities:

Direct Respiratory Care Deliver expert-level respiratory interventions including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and nebulizer treatments. Conduct advanced cardiopulmonary assessments, respond to respiratory emergencies, and support complex cases in group home settings. Monitor and document respiratory conditions in collaboration with nursing staff and medical providers. Ensure all respiratory care adheres to medical orders, facility protocols, and applicable state/federal regulations. Clinical Education & Training Lead onboarding and ongoing education for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs on best practices for respiratory care. Develop and deliver in-service trainings, simulations, and competency assessments focused on respiratory procedures, emergency response, and use of equipment. Act as a clinical mentor and go-to respiratory care expert for staff on all shifts. Maintain education records, competency logs, and staff progress reports. Equipment Oversight & Compliance Supervise maintenance, proper usage, and safety compliance of respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, suction machines, and nebulizers. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with vendors or service providers as needed. Ensure respiratory supplies and devices are cleaned, calibrated, and stored according to regulatory guidelines. Document all equipment usage, maintenance checks, and staff education activities.
