Description:
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency is looking for a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist. The Peer Recovery Specialist works directly with the Center Manager and in collaboration with Wellness Mentors and members to plan and implement the Wellness Center operations. This position also works to develop community resources and partnerships to meet the needs of the community and members. This position will travel between the Neptune, New Brunswick and Somerville centers.
HIGHLIGHTS
Act as a role model/mentor to empower individuals to self-advocate and coordinate their own services. Assist members in identifying personal goals for recovery using one-to-one and group meetings. Offer referrals to members regarding wellness, recovery, peer support, and community services. Assist in developing and expanding services within the community.
Schedule:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 9am
- 5pm | Wednesday 11am
- 7pm | Thursday 10am
- 6pm Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks

Holidays Requirements:
MUST have their Peer Certification. High School diploma or GED equivalent. Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system and community resources. Ability to make and maintain positive relationships with individuals who receive mental health and/or substance abuse services. Willingness to disclose mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on their individual recovery. Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner. Proficient in MS Office products. Bilingual skills are a plus! MUST have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
