Cytology Non-Gyn Prep Technician Position Available In Buncombe, North Carolina

Cytology Non-Gyn Prep Technician Pathologists’ Medical Laboratory, PA Asheville, NC 28803 We are seeking a full-time Cytology Prep Tech to work in our Non-Gyn Cytology area. We are a busy laboratory in Asheville, NC. A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Some college with a focus in biology, chemistry or medical technology is helpful. Position is first shift, working from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Excellent benefits. The candidate should possess and demonstrate current competencies applicable to the position.

Duties include:

1. Accurately interprets information and performs accessioning and slide/container preparation in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. 2. Processes unfixed and fixed specimens according to established standards in an accurate, quality, timely, and safe manner including preparation of unfixed specimen to thin prep solution. 3. Uses good clinical judgment in determining appropriateness of specimen procedure and development of cell block. The preferred candidate will also be able to cross-train in other cytology and molecular areas of the laboratory. Only qualified candidates will be considered. No phones calls please.
