The Cytotechnologist:
Performs microscopic examinations. Provides final interpretations of normal gynecological specimens. Provides initial interpretations of non-gynecological, FNA and abnormal gynecological specimens using standardized procedures. Assists in the collection and preparation of FNA and biopsy specimens for immediate evaluation; understanding method principles; performing quality control and quality assurance activities and evaluating results based on patient demographics and history. Works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines and validates all data obtained.
