Dental Assistant Health Services Inc. (HSI) Montgomery, AL 36107 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems in Athena Dental. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and patient communications, including follow-ups. Support pediatric and adult dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for patients. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Requirements Knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology is essential. Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Athena. Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently. Experience or interest in pediatrics and pediatric dentistry is a plus. Certification as a Dental Assistant required.
