Certified Dental Assistant Herston Dental Services 4161 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 Herston Dental Services is a patient focused, private practice general dental office that is well-established in Port Charlotte. We perform most all aspects of general dentistry including but not limited to composite restorations, crown/bridge, implant restoration, dentures, extractions, endodontic procedures, as well as maintain patient hygiene recalls. We are looking for a Certified Dental Assistant who will help make our patient’s experience pleasant and efficient. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures run as smoothly as possible. Applicants should be respectful, well-presented and well-organized with the ability to pay great attention to detail. Having a Team mindset is also a must! Responsibilities Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Make temporaries and take digital x-ray images Take impressions, pour models and other lab tasks as instructed Provide post-operative care instructions Keep the treatment areas clean and well-stocked Prepare/Reset operatory for treatment using proper disinfection techniques Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed Sterilize instruments Skills Proven experience as dental assistant, at least 2 years is requested Good computer skills; knowledge of Dentrix/Dexis is preferred Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable Understanding of health & safety regulations Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Additional EFDA certification or training is an asset
