Lead Dental Assistant Sun Smile Dentistry 3440 Conway Boulevard, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 Overview We are a small family practice seeking a skilled, dedicated and motivated Lead Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations within our practice, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and team performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of general dentistry procedures, and proficiency in relevant software and medical documentation. We primarily work Monday-Thursday. Friday optional for emergency appointments.

Full-time Responsibilities Lead and manage the clinical team to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care. Assist the dentist during dental procedures including but not limited to oral surgery, restorative, and root canal therapy. Oversee the implementation of dental treatment plans in collaboration with the Dr. Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards with a strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology. Train and mentor team members on best practices, including aseptic techniques and use of medical imaging. Utilize Carestack for patient management and record keeping. Assist in the operation of 3D scanners for diagnostic imaging and treatment planning. Computer-assisted design (CAD) software for dental restorations and 3D printing. Ensure a safe and sterile environment for all clinical procedures with an understanding of infection control protocols and practices . Maintain stock and inventory as well as assist in supply order allocation Stay updated on advancements in anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Experience Proven experience in a dental setting is essential. Familiarity with Carestack software applications is preferred. Knowledge of medical documentation practices, anatomy, medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and medical imaging is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental imaging systems preferably Dexis Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and patient satisfaction. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
