We are looking for a very specific individual, an orthodontic assistant who has experience, knowledge and loves what they do, but misses the connection they used to have with patients. We are a smaller, family-owned orthodontic practice equipped with a team that is all in on enjoying coming to work each and every day. Necessary skills:

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including taking and developing dental x-rays, making impressions of patients’ teeth, and preparing materials for orthodontic treatments.
• Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide instructions on caring for orthodontic appliances.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling dental duties as needed.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize dental software systems to update patient records and manage treatment plans (training is available).

Experience:

• Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments used in orthodontics.
• Proficient in taking vital signs and recording medical documentation accurately.

Skills:

• This position requires proficiency in orthodontic procedures and assisting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages.
• Strong organizational skills to manage appointment scheduling and patient records.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and precise execution of orthodontic procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals.
