Prosthodontic Dental Assistant Jacksonville Dental Specialists 11512 Lake Mead Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32256 Full Job Description We are looking for a Prosthetic Dental Assistant in our multi-specialty office of Periodontics and Prosthodontics who can manage the clinical back office efficiently. You should be well organized, focused and have an outstanding work ethic. In this position, you will aide in the delivery of advanced dental health care including full arch crown and bridge, single, multiple & full arch provisionals, Full Arch Fixed Provisionals, denture relines & adjustments, preliminary impressions, Digital Scanning with Shinning 3D, restoring single, multiple & full arch implants. Opportunity to cross train in Periodontics.
Responsibilities Include:
Assists the Prosthodontist during a variety of advance dental treatment procedures. Escorts patients to/from treatment room. Takes dental x-rays, using Schick sensors, Portable Nomad & Cone Beam CT Scans. Assists with opening and closing of dental back office, as scheduled. Asks about the patient’s medical history and takes blood pressure and pulse. Records information.
Creates Referral Update Letters Cleaning Specifications:
Practice a high standard of sanitation and tidiness in the treatment rooms. Strictly follow the cleaning specifications for all equipment. Prepares and sterilizes instruments and equipment. Helps patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment. Provides patients with instructions for follow-up oral care, follow-up appointments, etc. Handle emergency situations by following established policies and procedures. Participate in all huddles, team meetings, and training workshops. Maintain and review patient charts (manually and electronically) accurately and up-to-date. Enter data into the computer system as required. Assist in the updating of patient charts as needed. Notify Front Desk, if treatments change before treatment begins. Maintains inventory of back office supplies. Maintains confidentiality of information. Works with Clinical Manager to maintain
OSHA/HIPAA
compliance. Works with Clinical Manger Minimum Qualifications (Industry, Work Experience and/or Education) High School Diploma (HSD). Previous experience (at least 1 year) as a dental assistant restorative experience preferred. Computer Skills Eaglesoft practice management software preferred. Certified/Registered Dental Assistant CPR Certification Familiar with

Ability to read and comprehend advanced instructions, operating manuals, correspondence, and memos. Should be patient-service driven. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy along with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Sometimes, patients are in extreme pain and/or mental stress, so the dental assistant must be sensitive to their emotions. Should have a pleasant and personable demeanor. Requires an ability to work with equipment settings on a regular basis. Excellent follow-through skills. Strong attention to detail and well organized. Must have excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to listen to patients, dentist and hygienist; and follow directions. Is a self-starter and can work independently. Dependable and reliable. Maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to work in fast paced office.
