This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care. Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments, to ensure optimal patient flow. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for managing patient information and appointments. Operate 3D scanners for imaging as needed, particularly in pediatric cases. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care. Skills Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry. Knowledge of infection control procedures and best practices. Familiarity with dental terminology used in clinical settings. Experience with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray capabilities. Ability to operate 3D scanners effectively for diagnostic purposes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Experience assisting in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required.
