Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Prepare and maintain patient records
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of medical coding, medical records, and medical terminology
• Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Familiarity with medical imaging and documentation systems (e.g., Epic)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
