Turn on TV’s, computers, x-ray machines and panoramic unit 3. Purge lines for high-speeds and A/W syringes. 16 4. organize treatment room for each patient (instruments, record and radiograph) 5. greet, seat and prepare patients for treatment 6. present the patient health history form to the dentist for update at each visit 7. assist the dentist at chair side (passing and receiving of instruments, oral evacuation, retraction, and preparation of materials) 8. be prepared in the event of an emergency to assist the dentist with basic life support 9. Fill ultrasonic and empty ultrasonic at the end of the day 10. participate in patient education 11. walk the patient to the business desk 12. present digital record to dentist for entry of treatment and signature before dismissal of patient 13. Make temporary crown and pack cord 14. Check to make sure the ALL lab cases from yesterday are ready to go out and make sure they are in for tomorrow’s scheduled patients if not patient needs 15. clean up treatment room and operatory equipment according to OSHA and CDC infection guidelines 16. order and keep inventory of clinical supplies as approved through the dentist 17. enter patient charting data on computer 18. Check in and put away any supply orders received 19. Fill out progress notes and place in chart and sequence future treatment 20. Fill out routing slip, accurately indicating all procedures performed, any prescriptions needed and the next visit information. 21. Hand off routing slip and patient to manager if treatment is indicated or to FOA if no treatment is indicated 22. Remove all instruments from the ultrasonic and drain. 23. Make sure patient has recall appointment before they leave 24. Ensure all instruments are bagged and ready to go for sterilization cycle. 25. aid receptionist in answering phones if available 26. expose digital radiographs (if licensed) 27. Make sure all impressions have been poured. 28. Trim models and get lab cases ready to go out. 29. empty trash cans daily in operatories, laboratory and sterilization area 30. sweep and mop operatory, sterilization, lab and darkroom weekly 31. dust items in operatory area 32.
