Description Must hold a Dental Radiographer Certificate The dental assistant is proficient at assisting in the examination and treatment of dental oncology patients under the direction of the dentist. Responsible for assisting the dentist in the examination of patients including obtaining dental imaging, conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records patient information accurately and appropriately in EMR and/or patient’s charts. Estimated pay range for this position is $20.32 – $26.42 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications Degrees:
High School Diploma, Certification of Completion, GED, Training, Experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. Basic Life Support. Dental Radiographer Certification.
Additional Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program as recognized by the American Dental Associations Commission on Accreditation. Must hold a current Dental Radiographer certificate and graduated with Expanded Dental Function. Experience in oncologic dentistry and oral prosthodontistry strongly preferred. Must be a professional, organized, detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Possesses a compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
HIPAA/OSHA
compliance required. Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently. Proficient in computer applications and typing skills. Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Bilingual preferred. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines and medical terminology a plus.
