Orthodontic Assistant Drubi Orthodontics North Miami Beach, FL 33162 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting orthodontists with various procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Take medical imaging as required, including X-rays and photographs of patients’ teeth and jaws. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records for each patient visit, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on appointments as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to ensure optimal results. Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean working environment in accordance with health regulations. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with any patient discomfort or concerns during procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in pediatric dentistry settings. Skills Proficiency in medical imaging techniques related to orthodontics. Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and maintaining accurate medical records. Familiarity with dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and patient communication. Understanding of medical terminology relevant to orthodontics and dentistry. Experience in endodontics is a plus but not required. Ability to assist effectively during procedures while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is beneficial for working with younger patients. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages, particularly children.
