Pediatric Dental Assistant Shiny Happy Smiles, PLLC Saint Petersburg, FL 33716 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to children in a friendly and supportive environment. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to work effectively with young patients and their families. Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures relevant to pediatric dentistry. Experience with X-ray technology and ability to perform radiographic imaging. Familiarity with infection control protocols specific to dental clinics. Previous experience working in pediatrics is preferred. Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix Ascend for patient management. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with children and their guardians. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Take X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Charting patient histories accurately in the dental software system. Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with clinic policies. Support the dentist with various procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, and other pediatric treatments.
