General Job Description:

Dental assistant position at a small, general dentistry office. Employee will report to the doctor for tasks and direction. Assisting responsibilities will be split between dental assisting staff in order to ensure smooth and streamlined patient experience. Employee’s duties and responsibilities are outlined below, but may include additional tasks that fall under the umbrella of a dental assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greeting patients and visitors Operatory set-up and breakdown Disinfection procedures for operatories, equipment, and instruments Sterilizing instruments and equipment Taking basic dental X-rays Operating dental software for charting and treatment planning Maintaining organized patient charts and notes All chairside dental assisting duties deemed necessary by dental provider Light cleaning and organizing

Competencies:

High level of professionalism and customer service skills Organizational skills Multitasking and problem-solving skills Familiarity with sterilization techniques Familiarity with digital radiology

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent Dental Assistant Certification AHA CPR Certification or equivalent

Qualifications:

Prior assisting experience preferred but not needed to apply.
